That time I had the brilliant idea to ask my good friend for lessons in seduction… Awkward? Maybe. But how else is a good girl going to find out if she likes being naughty? I might be sweet as cherry pie, but I'm also bold and damn curious. And Gabe is charming, trustworthy, aces at seduction (or so I hear) and—bonus!— willing to give me lessons. But to guarantee it won’t ruin our friendship, I have some specific requirements for his instruction. I want these classes to be hypothetical more than hands-on. So what if he’s hella sexy? I can handle that, no problem. *** I have it bad for Arden. She's bright, brilliant, insanely fun, and I want to take her home and spend all night together—and then spend the day with her, too. When she asks for my help, I see my chance to win her sweet heart by showing her how much fun we can have getting spicy. Trouble is, she has a different idea of what “bedroom exploration” should mean. Now I’m going to have to get really clever to win her over. Good thing I know exactly how to upend her best laid plans.

Arden has never pumped me for dating details before. Not the tawdry ones at least. I half want to believe it means something, but it could mean nothing at all.
“Just curious,” she says nonchalantly as she grabs her favorite purple ball. She makes it sound so casual, her inquiry. But there’s that word again from Words with Friends—curious—and it snags on my brain. Why exactly is she so curious?
A second later, she gives me the answer. “Everyone’s coming into the bookstore buying these racier books. It just got me thinking.”
She turns away, heads to the top of the lane, and holds the ball in front of her.
And her comment has me thinking too.
About dirtier books.
If she reads them.
What she likes between the sheets.
What her curiosity has piqued exactly. Well, besides me. I’m definitely piqued, and I make a quick adjustment in my jeans so it’s not so damn obvious.
As she tosses the ball down the lane, her left leg arcing behind her, showing a hint of the back of her thighs, I groan.
I want to know the landscape of her body. Want to slide my hands up and down her legs, nibble on her ass, and make her whimper.
I would love to know what would make Arden go wild in bed.
That’s not only because I’m wildly attracted to her.
It’s because I want to know what makes her tick in the bedroom as well as I know what excites her out of it.
I want to know her in every way.
Sooner or later, I’m going to have to figure out how to drive this car clear out of the friend zone.
Sooner is my preference.
Like maybe this weekend at the party here at the bowling alley.
Maybe I can find a way to pique her interest in me.

Tomboy by Avery Finn BLOG TOUR

Tomboy - BT banner.jpg

How exactly has one good deed landed me in the penalty box?

Tomboy, an all-new, sexy romantic comedy from USA Today bestselling author Avery Flynn, is available now!

Ice Knights defenseman Zach Blackburn has come down with the flu, and my BFF—his PR manager—begs me to put my nursing degree to use and get him back to health. Of course, she would call in a favor for the most hated man in Harbor City.
But when he’s finally on the mend and I’m sneaking out of his place, everything goes sideways. Paparazzi spot me and pictures, plus accusations that I slept with him, fly faster than a hockey puck.
At first, all of Harbor City wants my blood—or to give me a girlie-girl makeover. But then…the team finally wins a game. And now this fickle town wants me with the big jerk twenty-four seven.
Argh. I never slept with him for the first time! But no one will listen. Then the grumpy bastard goes and promises to break his no-fan-appearances rule to help raise money for a free health clinic—but only if I’m rink-side at every game. That’s not a deal I can turn down.
But when the team keeps winning, and I realize there’s more to him than his bad reputation, suddenly remembering to keep my real hands off my fake date gets harder and harder to do.

Tomboy - Teaser 4 AN.jpg

The blaring ring echoed off the bare walls of the nearly empty mansion as Fallon Hartigan marched down the hallway with murder on her mind. As soon as she got to the source of that ringing, she was going to give Harbor City what they wanted most and kill the most-hated man in hockey. Sure, she might get arrested, but the metro area would probably throw her a parade. She turned the corner and stopped dead in her tracks outside the open double doors leading to the overpriced defenseman’s bedroom. The man—who’d been puking his guts up less than twenty-four hours ago—was in the middle of a king-size bed, wearing nothing but a smirk and a bed sheet that was draped so low across his hips that she could see miles of those V lines south of his hard abs. Like she was a newbie nurse on her first set of rounds, her breath caught, and a blush she most definitely did not want to appear started to burn her cheeks. Damn her pasty Irish skin. Still, she had to admit, if only to herself, that the view was fucking amazing. The man was a professional athlete and had the muscular, inked-up chest to prove it. Practically against her will, her gaze traveled over the plentiful ink across his pecs and lingered a few breaths too long on his silver nipple rings. Seemingly indifferent to her perusal, Zach swiped his thumb across his cell phone’s screen, ending the incessant ringing. “About time,” he said, his voice a mellow, low rumble. “I’ve been ringing for you for almost ten minutes.” He dropped his phone on the small table next to the bed and then lounged against the headboard, managing somehow to look down his nose at her even with their current height differential. Forget killing him, she was going to go after her bestie. It was Lucy’s fault Fallon was even here. She squeezed her eyes shut and counted to ten as she recalled all the reasons why the man was a menace and not the solution to her three-month-long sexual dry spell. He was a selfish player. He was surly to the press, to the fans, and probably to his neighbor’s dog. He’d banged a puck bunny tattooed with the logo of the Ice Knights’ most hated rival. She counted to another ten while remembering why she couldn’t off him. He was Lucy’s client. He was, for some incomprehensible reason, one of her bestie’s friends. He had the skills to turn around the Ice Knights’ sofar shitty season if he could remove the giant chip from his shoulder and start playing as if he actually liked hockey again. Exhaling a deep breath, she reopened her eyes and barely noticed his muscular shoulders this time as she moved away from the door. There. All better. She’d managed to pack away the Hartigan attitude, and her temper hadn’t even made an appearance. Bully for her. Now to get back to that cool, clinical demeanor she strove for whenever she was on the clock. “You rang?” she asked, managing to keep a good 73 percent of her annoyance out of her tone as she walked farther into the room.
About Avery
USA Today bestselling romance author Avery Flynn has three slightly-wild children, loves a hockey-addicted husband and is desperately hoping someone invents the coffee IV drip. She fell in love with romance while reading Johanna Lindsey’s Mallory books. It wasn’t long before Avery had read through all the romance offerings at her local library. Needing a romance fix, she turned to Harlequin’s four books a month home delivery service to ease the withdrawal symptoms. That worked for a short time, but it wasn’t long before the local book stores’ staffs knew her by name. Avery was a reader before she was a writer and hopes to always be both. She loves to write about smartass alpha heroes who are as good with a quip as they are with their *ahem* other God-given talents. Her heroines are feisty, fierce and fantastic. Brainy and brave, these ladies know how to stand on their own two feet and knock the bad guys off theirs. AveryFlynn

Tomboy (The Hartigans, #3)Tomboy by Avery Flynn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tomboy is book 3 is The Hartigans series. It definitely can be a stand alone. In fact, this is the first book I read in this series and by this author and I became very connected to this story from the start. I actually read this book in one sitting. That doesn't happen to me very often. I just didn't want to put it down.

Poor Fallon she gets talked into helping her best friend, PR Manager for Zach Blackburn, defence-man for Ice Knights Hockey Team with her nursing skills to help nurse him back to health.

From the moment she presses the buzzer on his gate their banter starts and it continues throughout the whole book. Fallon does not take any crap from anyone but on the other hand, she'll have their back 110% too.

Zach comes off as a typical arrogant jock at first until you realize there is a lot more to him. He's carrying a pretty heavy load. Through his connection with Fallon he allows himself to open up not only with her for with his teammates as well. That pretty awesome to see unfold.

These two together is combustible. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can't wait to read another one by this author.

Tinsel by Devney Perry BLOG TOUR & REVIEWS!!

Sofia Kendrick has always cherished her tiara. As the youngest daughter of a wealthy New York family, she’s lived the life of an American princess. But after two scandalous divorces and a breakup smear her name across the society rags, the shine from her crown has dulled. People call her superficial, even gaudy. She’s nothing more than tinsel. Desperate for escape and starving for peace, Sofia heads to Montana for a holiday weekend with her brother. But she doesn’t get the relaxing vacation she planned. Instead, she’s put to work in a bar alongside Dakota Magee—a man who does not want her help. A man who is set on teaching her a few lessons about real life and hard work. But Sofia has a couple of life lessons of her own to teach. Like how to fall in love.

This was a great story.

Sofia is the youngest daughter of a wealthy family and is pined the princess of the family. Her reputation was smeared by the magazine so she goes on holiday in Montana, to see her brother. She gets roped into helping Dakota at her sister in laws bar.

They have some life lessons to teach each other.

At first, I did not like Sophia she seemed that everything revolved around her. I like a heroine to be strong, independent and hard working. As the story got going you realize that there is more to her than meets the eye. I really enjoyed her character throughout the rest of the book. Dakota I liked from the get-go. I liked that he was a hard worker and did what he wanted not what people expected of him. I enjoyed the banter between Sophia and Dakota. Their chemistry sizzled. The scenes are very descriptive, which I enjoyed. I look forward to reading more books in this series.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tinsel is Book 4 in the Lark Cove Series. This is a series that you definitely want to read from the start. You will just get more appreciate of the characters and the series as a whole.

We get introduced to Sofia in the very first book in the series and she didn't give a very good impression. She was very unkind to Thea.
Thea and her have come a very long way since then.

Sofia is in Montana visiting her brother to escape the reality of what her life has become. Thea puts her to work in her alongside side her bar manager, Dakota Magee. Who makes it known he doesn't want her high society self there.

Sofia learns the job duties the hard way but she never gives up. You just have to admire her determination. Along the way, she's trying to figure out what to do with the rest of her life. She wants to find purpose, to find fulfillment.

The more determined Sofia becomes the more Dakota takes a liking to her. Neither one is looking for a long term relationship and know that with their backgrounds that a future together is not for them.

What I really liked about this book was learning about Dakota's heritage and the pressures and prejudice that are still there. He really struggled making his own path. I'm really glad he had his Uncle Xavier on his side.

When it became apparent that Dakota and Sofia had fallen in love it wasn't the fact that she was rich that was going to keep them from having a future together. It was the fact she wasn't the same heritage as Dakota.

Will Dakota be able to find a solution so he can have a future with the one he loves?

“It’s just another job.”
“I’m pretty sure you’ve set the world record for takin’ the longest time to drink a beer,” Wyatt’s voice comes over the earpiece. “Well,I have to come to this dump every damn night to look like a regular just in case Roberts asks around about me. At this rate,I’ll be an alcoholic by the time we wrap things up.” Picking up the glass I take another sip of the bitter liquid before letting my gaze casually roam over the crowd. I don’t let my eyes rest on the table where the other officers are sitting. They’ll be responsible for picking a fight with Clay Roberts once he shows. From watching Roberts, we know he comes to this bar every Tuesday night to meet with his father’s old partner, Joe Randall. “You sure this is gonna work?” I mumble. “Yeah, it’s the only way to win Clay’s trust. You need to get close to him and savin’ his ass is the quickest way.” I let out a sigh. My ass is about to fall asleep from sitting on the hard stool. As the minutes tick by I go over all the details of the operation. The Lyman, Duncan, and Welford Police Departments work in close partnership with the Spartanburg Sheriff’s Office to take out the prison gangs who run meth labs from various trailer parks. The prison gangs are known to bounce around until they get busted. But we’ve all had enough and decided to go for the head of the snake, Clay Roberts. His father is doing time for supplying and distributing product, and with a little luck,Clay will be joining his old man soon. We have officers from each department working this case. From Lyman,it’s Officer Wyatt Holden, and Detectives Aiden Holden and Zac Hutches. I’m the only detective from Spartanburg. From Welford, there are another two officers, but they’re working behind the scenes on all the intel we have. I’m going undercover as a drifter looking for a job while Wyatt will be my eyes and ears on the outside. One wrong move and months of planning could go down the drain. “A black Range Rover just pulled up. Checkin’ the plate for you,” Wyatt suddenly says, snapping me out of my bored daze. Wearing worn boots, faded black jeans, and a white t-shirt with a black long sleeve over it, I blend in with the crowd. I haven’t shaved in a couple of days, soI look scruffy. “It’s Clay Roberts. Get ready,” Wyatt confirms. “There are only two guards, so it should be easy.” I immediately recognize Roberts when he walks into the bar then focus my eyes on the beer in front of me. The officers give Roberts time to order a drink and find a place to sit before they make their move. Waiting until I hear a commotion behind me, I casually look over my shoulder. Roberts is standing by a table and wiping a spilled drink off his shirt while Nick, one of the officers, pretends to drunkenly stagger into him. A guard grabs hold of Nick’s shoulder, giving him the perfect opportunity to throw a punch. I get up as the fight escalates and start to walk toward the group of men. Luck is on our side because random men join the fight and soon fists are flying everywhere. “No matter how much I think about this, I’m pretty sure there’s an easier way,” I mumble before I duck to avoid a fist being thrown my way. Stepping to my left, I shove a guy away from me and then it’s time to go into action. I sprint and jumping, I knee a man in the back, then use the momentum of his body falling forward to slide over him, and at the same time throw a punch at the guy he was fighting which clears the way for me to where Roberts is. Roberts’ eyes widen from seeing me in action, and he takes a step backward. I see the confusion on his face when I don’t attack him like I’m sure he expected, but instead swing my elbow back and into a drunk idiot’s face. I notice a guy coming up behind Roberts and quickly dart forward. Grabbing hold of Roberts’ shoulders, I push myself up so I can flip my body over his. Before my feet even touch the ground, I kick at the attacker’s knee so his legs will buckle under him, then bring my knee up into his face. The blow renders him unconscious, but unfortunately,I’ve drawn attention to myself. As a group of guys closes in on us, Roberts’ grabs hold of my arm. I glance at him while trying to keep an eye on what’s happening around me. All this will be for nothing if I let some drunk ass take a swing at me. “Get me out of here, and I’ll make it worth your while,” Roberts’ says his voice tight from either panic or fear, or both. “Yeah?” I say, then quickly block a blow before slamming my fist into the guy’s jaw. “One thousand dollars,” Roberts’ shouts while pointing to somewhere behind me. I bring my elbow back, and it connects with whoever was stupid enough to stand at the back of me. “Two thousand,” Roberts says, his eyes darting wildly around the bar. “Deal.” I smile as I say the word, then grab hold of Roberts’ arm. “Stay right behind me.” Turning to face the brawling crowd, I look for the quickest way out. The front entrance is pretty much a no go, so I start to make my way towards the back. While averting punches being thrown my way, I make sure to keep my voice low so Roberts won’t hear as I ask Wyatt, “I’m takin’ him out the back entrance. Is it clear?” A few seconds later Wyatt answers, “You’re good to go.” Not wasting time, I pull Roberts closer and steer him through the crowd while blocking all the blows coming our way. When I finally push Roberts through the back door of the bar, I hold my hand out to him. “Pay up.” Roberts combs his fingers through his hair, straightening his appearance then smiles at me. “You’ve got some skills. Where did you learn to fight like that?” Making eye contact with him, I grin while replying, “I worked at a martial arts center after school and picked up things along the way.” Growing up I spent all my free time learning any form of martial arts, so for this cover,I’m sticking to the truth as much as possible, reducing the chances of being caught out by a lie. Roberts reaches a hand out to me. “Clay Roberts.” “Alec Kyle,” I reply while shaking his hand. We decided I would use my first name while going undercover, and just to change my last name from Taylor to Kyle. “I haven’t seen you around Lyman before,” Roberts says while looking me over. “Are you new in town?” “Just passin’ through.” I keep the answer short knowing it will make Roberts curious about me. His one eyebrow moves slightly up. “On vacation?” “No, driftin’ from town to town, doing odd jobs,” I give him the golden nugget of info which will hopefully make him offer me a job. “I don’t have the two thousand dollars on me right now.” Roberts takes a pen and business card from his pocket and writes his address on the back before holding it out to me. “Why don’t you come by my place tomorrow to collect it?I’d like to make you an offer that would be beneficial to us both.” I pretend to think it over before taking the card. “I’ll be there for my money.” I walk away in the direction of the nearest motel and wait until I’m in my room before looking at the card. The front only has Robert’s name and a contact number. Flipping it over I seethe address. “He gave me the right address,” I report to Wyatt who’s been surprisingly quiet. “I knew you could fight, but damn, Dude, that was badass. I’d pay good money to see a fight between you and my brother,” Wyatt says, sounding impressed. “Yeah? Is Aiden any good?” I ask as I walk over to the window and glance outside to make sure I wasn’t followed. “Aiden can hold his own,” Wyatt remarks, but I hear the pride in his voice. “So he’s that good?” “Yeah, he’s kicked my ass plenty of times,” Wyatt answers. Having made sure I wasn’t followed, I say, “I’m comin’ out. Meet me around the back.” I lock the door behind me and quickly jog around the side of the building. As I get there,Wyatt pulls up in the van, and I slip in before he drives to a deserted area, so we can finalize everything before I meet with Roberts.
